Metrostav Group achieved record turnover last year. The General Meeting approved its new structure

19. 6. 2026
Press release

The General Meeting of Metrostav a.s. approved the financial statements for 2025 and the amended Articles of Association of the company. As of 1 July 2026, a new management structure of the Group will come into effect, led by President Aleš Gothard. The current President, František Kočí, will serve as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Metrostav a.s.

In 2025, Metrostav Group achieved turnover of CZK 57.45 billion and profit of CZK 2.25 billion. The stabilisation of the construction market after previous years marked by the pandemic, rising input prices and the impacts of the war in Ukraine enabled the companies of Metrostav Group to maintain a strong backlog of work and continue implementing major projects in the Czech Republic and abroad.

“I am handing over Metrostav Group at a time when it is stable, economically healthy and ready for further growth. The results achieved are thanks to all employees and partners who contributed to them through their everyday work,” said František Kočí, outgoing President of Metrostav Group.

The amended Articles of Association clarify the position of Metrostav a.s. as the controlling entity of Metrostav Group and regulate the powers of the Board of Directors in managing the Group. The changes also include strengthening the control and supervisory role of the Supervisory Board over strategic, investment-related and economically significant decisions of the company.

As of 1 July 2026, the new management structure of Metrostav Group will come into effect. Aleš Gothard will become Chairman of the Board of Directors of Metrostav a.s. and President of Metrostav Group; Karel Volf will become Member of the Board of Directors and Vice President; Miroslav Pánek will become Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Metrostav a.s. and Chief Financial Officer; and Filip Křesťan will become Member of the Board of Directors and Production, Technical and Human Resources Director.

“The future of Metrostav Group does not lie in creating a new operating model, but in further developing and unifying what has proved successful in recent years. We want to focus our further development on well-considered investments, innovation in construction and strengthening our presence in foreign markets. Our shared goal must be a strong, stable and respected Metrostav Group in the long term, capable of using its potential as one unified whole,” said Aleš Gothard, the new President of Metrostav Group.

Karel Volf, Vice President of Metrostav Group, also emphasised the importance of cooperation across the Group: “Metrostav today is a group of strong and successful companies. Our task is to create conditions for their further development while also making use of the potential brought by cooperation. The new management structure strengthens our ability to coordinate key activities across the entire Group and will enable us to respond better to opportunities in both the Czech and foreign markets. We want to build on what has proved successful while preparing Metrostav Group for the next stage of its growth.”

The new management structure is part of Metrostav Group’s long-term strategy for further development and responds to the growing scope of the Group’s activities in the Czech Republic and on foreign markets. The aim of the changes is to strengthen coordination among individual companies, increase management efficiency and create conditions for the further growth of the entire Metrostav Group.

Projects in 2025

Among the most significant projects of the past year were the completion of the reconstruction of the Fairmont Golden Prague building, the modernisation of the Praha–Bubny railway section including the new Praha–Výstaviště station, ongoing work on the construction of the D11 motorway section from Trutnov to the state border, the construction of the BioPharma Hub teaching and research centre in Brno, the development of a joint municipal school in Chýně and the new pavilion for mother and child care in Děčín. Work also continued on Metro Line D, the Smíchov City and Kappa Hagibor projects in Prague, CirkArena in Třinec and the EVO Komořany project near Most, while construction of the ZEVO Mělník waste-to-energy facility was also launched.

Foreign projects also formed an important part of Metrostav Group’s activities. In Norway, Metrostav Norge carried out work on the E134 Røldal–Seljestad section, including excavation of the Røldal tunnel, participated in the construction of extensive caverns for the mining company Boliden and continued construction of the E8 Sørbotn–Laukslett road with a bridge across Ramfjord.
