The renovated site now incorporates an underpass to the riverfront embankment, open for public use.

Uniqueness of the construction project
The reconstruction was hindered by the structurally unsound—and in many cases outright failing—condition of the building, requiring the removal and complete rebuilding of entire parts of the hotel. Some of the concrete structures also required replacement, and the façade system, combining alternating glass, metal and ceramic elements, was fully rebuilt.
