Reconstruction of České Budějovice Main Station Building
The listed passenger building at the main railway station in České Budějovice, which was in a critical condition, underwent a comprehensive repair that returned it to its original appearance. The optimisation of the interiors and the replacement of technology created a modern multifunctional station building with shops, services and offices. The building now meets the demands of modern times while retaining its historical value.

Uniqueness of construction project
The demanding reconstruction took place while the station was in full operation. The builders had to cope with elevated groundwater pressure levels and much greater degradation of the original structures and load-bearing elements than anticipated by the project. The neo-Renaissance building with neo-Classical elements and Art Nouveau decoration regained its original appearance and was declared Heritage Building of the Year 2024.
