Uniqueness of construction project

The synagogue is located in the Žatec Urban Heritage Reserve, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was built in the Moorish style in 1872 and almost entirely destroyed on Kristallnacht in 1938. It could be reconstructed thanks to support from the EU IROP grant programme, the rest of the costs were paid by Daniel Černý from his own resources with the support of family, friends and donors from all over the world.
